Know the Difference Between a Cold and H1N1 Flu Symptoms
Symptom | Cold | H1N1 Flu |

Precautionary Measures

Band Office
- All persons must have an appointment prior to coming to the band office.
- No loitering.
- Employees having ILI symptoms are encouraged to stay home.
Visiting
- Be extra cautious when visiting homes.
- Remain at home to prevent spread of virus.
Home Care
- Keep homes clean and sanitized at all times.
Curfew
- When there is no activity, curfew remains in effect from 10:00 pm - 6:00 am daily.
- For the Christmas Festivities, curfew will be dictated by the approval of activities.
- Enforcement by Peacekeepers.
- Parents are encouraged to ensure that their children are at home by 10:00 pm.
- Neighbours to report to authority.
- Have reliable babysitters.
Northern Store
- 10 customers at a time remains in effect to minimize the spread of the virus.
- It is recommended that 1 person is appointed to get groceries.
- Grocery lists can also be given to the Northern Staff and have it delivered to the homes.
Local Businesses
- Spruceshores and Coffee Shop and other private Video operations.
- All operations to be closed by 10:00 pm nightly.
Public Buildings
- No flea markets, bingos, rummage sales will be permitted until further notice.
- Limited number of people (10-12) is suggested for Gym Nights at public places and birthday parties, poker games and rummage sales held at private homes
Travel
- No restrictions at this time.
Communications
- All notices will be posted at public buildings; announcements at the Radio Station.
- Radio premises will be sanitized at all times.
- Updates will be every Friday.
- Radio Manager to organize the announcements.
- Updates to be posted on www.webequie.ca.
Church Services
- Church services will continue as is.
- As H1N1 increases, the Reverend will decide the course of action.
Parental Responsibilities
- Keep the children at home to prevent the spread of colds, flu and other illness.
- Know the whereabouts of the children at all times.
- Safety first.
- Please report any children who may be outdoord without adult supervision.
Security and Enforcement
- Will be provided by the Peacekeepers, Canadian Rangers, Women's Group and the Chief & Council.
- The General Membership is encouraged to enforce and adhere to these protocols.
Emergency contacts list and numbers will be posted and distributed.
Please follow these precautionary measures so we can prevent the spread of the H1N1, seasonal flu/colds that are currently at large in the community of Webequie.
